Beep was a catchy hit that showed the girls flirting with their hotness. Trying to decide what really the girls were trying to get at. Don't Cha (4.5 of 5) - Great first single for the girls. A good song for the love birds.5. Good track.12.
Melody again holds it down with the rips in the song.10. 2 filler tracks and most of the others good have charted well, if released. Melody's rips go perfect and top the song. Stickwitu (4 of 5) - Great ballad from the Girls. She knows what she wants and knows how to deliver a banger.9. This song is neither good nor bad. They are happy being who they are.7. This Nicole powered song had a hot video to make up for the lack there of, of a song.
A sweet tweeny type song, where she is saying No one is going to love her better and she's going to stick with her man forever. Timbaland had a good beat but just lacked lyrics.4. Hot Stuff (I Want You Back) (3 of 5) - Well, when you get to this track (along with another on the CD) you are giving a curveball. If you can remember back in 2004, of a female artist named TORI ALAMAZE - she entered the charts at number 53 with her version of Don't Cha. Bite The Dust (4 of 5) - Great intro to the song, it keeps you banging your head and fist to it. Good efforts from the Dolls. She was dropped and the song was and became a hit for the Pussycat Dolls and was the lead single of their cd PCD.1. Wait a Minute (3 of 5) - Not a personal favorite of mine.
Although her version, from my point of view, lacked emotion and any character, it was pretty catchy. Right Now (2 of 5) - This is the other curveball where the Dolls try and go back to the old times and it doesn't work with the CD. Nicole showed she was the "Head Doll"2. Beep (4 of 5) - Showed the girls dancing at their best aside from the Buttons video. It is so so. Nice and relaxed. In all the CD is fairly good.
With the little success of her singing it. Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go (3.5 of 5) - The Dolls performed this song on Fashion Rock and did a well job on it. They are declaring their woman-hood in this song saying they don't a man to be happy, to get on with life. Its a feel good track like the title of it says. Not much to review on that one.8. A filler track that could have been placed with then bonus track FLIRT.11. I Don't Need a Man (3.5 of 5) - A good break-up song.
Feelin Good (4 of 5) - Shows the many vocal skills of Nicole. From the beginnig to the end, you get the sense of wanting to tease or put on a show when the song plays. Other dolls such as Carmit and Melody where able to show their skills off on National TV. Although one wondered who was really singing the song and who was in the group one loved the song and video. How Many Times, How Many Lies (4 of 5) - Nicole's writing and vocal skills are clear in this song. Best song on the album.6. Showed a climpse of what Melody and Carmit had to offer to the group.3.
Buttons (5 of 5) - Saultry is not the word for this sexy song.
These are not good songs for ANY genre of music, The Pussycat Doll's are getting by on their looks. "Watching" them is it's own thing apart from "Listening" to their music, The contrast is off IMO.
If I could do this all over again I'd sample the Songs and download "Hot Stuff" and "Don'tcha" for FREE from a filesharing program. I like the album cover but that alone is not worth the funds.
Nicole Scherzinger has one of the most least appealing voices in Pop Music history, And she gets to sing all the songs. Something nice I can say about The Pussycat Dolls is that their Music Videos are always pleasing to the eye and they're fun to watch.
This album just doesn't deliver in any way whatsoever. The only cute songs are "Hot Stuff" and "Dont'cha", The rest of these songs are plain and simple.
Pop music is usually Fun and exciting, Nothing here is anything like.
The only downside to the album (and they are not alone), if it is not broke then don't fix it. Soft Cell did a better to Tainted and the same goes with Where Did Go performed by The Supremes. This CD is 44 minutes and 22 seconds long. Tainted Love\Where Did Our Love Go is cover songs. Even with that one bad song; I would still recommend this CD to anybody. Overall it is not a bad CD for the Pussycat Dolls debut album. Songs, Don't Cha, Beep, Right Now are great songs to listen to.
Christina Applegate was the actress who initially stuck with the Pussycat Dolls when they were still a burlesque group, and other actresses like Pamela and Carmen merely passed through to get their chance to become a part of the Pussycat Dolls for a short time, not to fuel their image. Their songs put women first, unlike copycats of theirs who use sex appeal in both their look and their lyrics to turn everyone off. Some people assume things about this group that are just not true. Yes, these girls somewhat rely on their sex appeal to give them a fan base, however their songs attract women, and are not completely distasteful.
the entire cd is very good also and i cannot wait for their next album, and nicole and alesha's new cds too. over the past decade, definatly there were 2 girl groups that really got my attention, one being "destiny's child" and the other one "mis-teeq" those 2 girl groups had huge success early this decade worldwide and this new girl group the pussycat dolls does remind me of them in a very simular way.in each of these famous girl groups there are 3 definatly main female singers in them that made them famous, for mis-teeq there was "alesha dixon" who has her debut solo cd coming out this year. for destiny's child there is "beyonce knowles" who had alot of success solo in the past and now we have the pussycat dolls with nicole scherzinger. And yeah i loved thier debut album and it had many hit singles, several up beat dancey tracks especially.
